Features

SK 145E-ASI … SK 175-ASI motor starters provide an integrated AS interface as standard. Therefore,
these devices can be directly integrated into an AS interface network. Only the setting of various functions of
the motor starter (DIP switches or parameter), the addressing and the proper connection of the supply,
BUS, sensor and actuator cables need to be carried out.

Features

·

Electrically isolated bus interface

·

Status display (1 LED)

·

Configuration optionally via integrated potentiometers and DIP - switches
or by parameterisation

·

Slave profile S-7.A (4I / 4O), (A/B Slave)

·

24V supply to the device and the integrated AS-i modules and via the yellow AS-i cable or separate
supply of the AS-i module and the device via yellow and black AS-i cables (can be configured with
jumpers)

·

Connection to the motor starter via the terminal bar,

·

Optional connection via M12 flange plug connector

·

Up to 62 devices on a Bus line (A/B slave) technology

·

Cycle time

≤ 10 / 20ms

·

Address as delivered = 0

·

Max. power consumption (only yellow cable) 25mA

(of which 165mA for the supply of the

connected initiators or actuators)

In its factory setting, the motor starter is configured so that the usual basic AS-i functions are available
immediately. These functions can be adapted by parameterisation.

4.3.3

Bus structure and technology

The AS interface network can be set up in any configuration. Linear, star, ring or tree structures are
possible. An existing network can be subsequently extended by the addition of further slaves. Up to 31
standard slaves (i.e. a maximum of 124 binary sensors and 124 binary actuators) or 62 A/B slaves (i.e. a
maximum of 248 binary sensors and 248 binary actuators) can be connected to an AS interface network or
an AS interface master. Each AS interface slave has its own address (1 to 31 (or 1A … 31A, 1B … 31B)),
which is assigned to the slave with the aid of an addressing device, or is transferred to the slave by means
of a command from the AS interface master. Each slave address may only be assigned once.

Usually the AS interface master is a part or component of the control unit and forms the interface between
the control unit and the connected slaves. An AS master communicates independently and exchanges data
with the connected AS-i slave options. Normal network components may not be used in an AS interface
network. Only a special AS interface mains unit may be used for the power supply of each AS interface
strand. This AS interface power supply is connected directly to the yellow standard cable (ASI+ and ASI-
cable) and should be located as close as possible to the AS-i master in order to keep the voltage drop as
small as possible.

No supply of the device via AS interface

8

Permissible total current for supply of the AS interface and the device via the yellow cable.
