Commissioning of the AS Interface

Connection

Connection of the AS interface cable is made via terminals 84 (AS-i+ "brown") / 85 (AS-i- "blue") of the
terminal bar and can also optionally be made via an appropriately labelled M12 flanged plug contact
(yellow). Details of the connection terminals can be found in Section 2.6 .

Item AS-i jumpers Meaning

1

The motor starter is not
supplied via the yellow
AS-i cable, but rather via
a separate AUX supply
from a PELV (black ca-
ble).

2

AS-i interface and device
are supplied via the AS-i
yellow cable. A separate
supply to the starter is not
necessary.

Control voltage supply to the motor starter

With the use of the AS interface, the control unit of the device is normally supplied via the yellow AS-i cable.
In this case, a voltage of 24V is provided to terminal 43.

Connection of an additional voltage source to this terminal is not permitted and may cause damage to the
device!

If the AS interface ("yellow cable") is not used, the motor starter is supplied with the control voltage as usual
via terminals 44/40.

NOTE

With the use of the yellow AS interface cable for the supply:

·

no voltage source may be connected to terminals 44/40,

·

the motor starter is supplied via the yellow AS-i cable,

·

the supply voltage (24V) for the use of the digital inputs or other external peripherals
(e.g. activators) can be obtained from terminals 43/40. The total permissible current for
this is limited to 165mA if the supply is only via the yellow AS-i cable!
