Devices and users are now associated.

Set the rights for the role, and then click Apply. Click Close to close the Properties window.

In this example, the users in the remoteAdmins role receive full access to the iLO
functionality.

All users within the role have the rights assigned to the role on all iLO devices that the
role manages.

Using the procedure in

Step 4

, edit the properties of the remoteMonitors role:

a.

Add the three LOM objects in hp devices in region1 to the Managed Devices list on the
HP Management

→Role Managed Devices tab (

Figure 98

).

b.

Add users to the remoteMonitors role by using the Members tab (

Figure 99

).

c.

Assign the Login right to the remoteMonitors role by using the HP Management

→Lights

Out Management Device Rights tab.

Members of the remoteMonitors role will be able to authenticate and view the server
status.

To configure a LOM device and associate it with a LOM object used in this example, use
settings similar to the following on the Directory Settings page.

LOM Object Distinguished Name = cn=rib-email-server,ou=hp

devices,ou=region1,o=samplecorp Directory User Context 1 =

ou=users,o=samplecorp

NOTE:

Commas, not periods, are used in LDAP DNs to separate each component.
