Method of operation and application

When the compressed air connections

3 on the linear module type HMP−...−B are

pressurized in alternate sequence, an internal piston moves backwards and forĆ
wards. This causes the guide tube, which is attached to the piston, to move. A
hydraulic shock absorber brakes the guide tube in the end position until it comes
to a stand at the end stop. The end positions are scanned in the grooves

aB on the

sensor strip. The end positions can be set with the aid of the stops and shock abĆ
sorber sleeves.

Up to 5 proximity switches can placed in the grooves of the sensor strip. The elecĆ
tric cables are connected through a profile recess

8 on the end cover of the linear

module.

The end cover HMP−...−

AD/EL is a supplementary module for the linear module

type HMP−...Ă. The electric cables are connected at a common connection point.
The switching status of up to 6 proximity switches is shown by means of LEDs

aJ

which can be seen through the viewing window. All the supply lines are protected
by means of a protective cable tube as listed in the section Accessories.

The linear module type HMP−...−B has been designed for transporting masses.

Transport and storage

S

Take into account the weight of the linear
module type HMP−...−B.

Depending on the design, the linear
module type HMP−...−B can weigh more
than 20 kg.

S

Ensure storage conditions as follows:

ć short storage times and
ć cool, dry, shaded storage locations

protected from corrosion.
