4. Push the proximity switches into the

sensor strip.

The cable guide grooves are intended for
the following number of proximity
switches:

ć upper groove: 2 proximity switches
ć lower groove: 3 proximity switches.

If the exit for the proximity switch cables
is mounted correctly, it will point in the
direction of the end cover.

5. Press the procximity switch cables into

the cable guide groove.

This enables the maximum number of
proximity switches to be used.

Proximity switches which are placed stagĆ
gered in separate grooves permit a short
switching sequence.

6. Remove the profile seal.

The profile recess in the end cover of the
linear module provides an exit for the
proximity switch cables grouped together
(see Fig. 20).

7. Adjust and fasten the proximity switches

in the end positions of the linear module
type HMP−...−B.

The proximity switches require sufficient
cable reserve to account for possible
corrections of position during a test run.

8. Fasten the housing cover

2 again.

Setting the permitted switch output on the
end module type HMP−...−EL:

Place the jumper (J) next to the terminal
strip

6 as shown in the diagram for

positive−switching sensors (PNP; factory
setting) or negative−switching sensors
(NPN).
