Close sliding window, hold window at grip
on front edge, lift it slightly and pull it out to
the front (Fig. 32) -

see also '8.5 Replacing

the lamp'.

Remove the accessories from the chamber
in the following order:

- brush shelf,
- knife holder,
- section waste tray,
- specimen discs,
- stationary heat extractor,
- storage shelf, left,
- storage shelf, right.

Loosen screws (3) with Allen key (4 mm).

Do not loosen screws (7) for removing the
microtome.

Hold plug (1) of coarse feed motor at metal
head and disconnect.

Disconnect temperature sensor (2).

Switch the instrument off and dis-
connect the mains plug before re-
moving the microtome!
Prior to removing the microtome, ro-
tate handwheel to place the speci-
men head to the lowest position.
Otherwise, when removing the micro-
tome, the specimen head will rapidly
fall down and might injure the
operator’s hands!
Wear appropriate protective gloves
to remove the cold microtome from
the cryochamber.
Prolonged skin contact with cold
parts of the instrument can cause
frost bite!
