Insert pin (6) of specimen disc (5) into the
appropriate bore (7) at the top or bottom of
the thermal block.

After about 20 seconds, the frozen speci-
men can be removed from the specimen
disc with a pair of forceps.

If the cap sits too loosely, retighten with
screw (10).
Be careful not to overtighten the screw!

Once the specimen is removed from the
disc, take the thermal block out of the cold
cryochamber.

Optional accessories

9.1.3 Thermal block

The thermal block (8) facilitates the removal of
frozen specimens from the specimen disc.

Place the cap (9) on the end opposite to the
end containing the appropriate size bore
for the specimen disc you wish to insert.

Do not keep the thermal block inside
the cryochamber. Store at room tem-
perature and place it into the
cryochamber only for specimen re-
moval.
