Chapter 7 Troubleshooting

PORT Status Indicator

This red/green bicolor LED indicates the status of the option module
connection to the drive as shown in the table below.

Status

Cause

Corrective Action

Off

The option module is not powered or
connected properly to the drive.

Securely connect and ground the option module to

the drive by fully inserting it into the drive port and
tightening its two captive screws to the
recommended torque.

Apply power to the drive.

Flashing Red

The option module is not receiving any
communication from drive.

Verify that cables are securely connected.

Cycle power to the drive.

Steady Red

The option module detected a duplicate or
invalid port ID.

Important: Cycle power to the drive after making any
of the following corrections:

Securely connect and ground the option module to

the drive by fully inserting it into the drive port and
tightening its two captive screws to the
recommended torque.

Configure the option module and PowerFlex drive to

use a Datalink that is not already being used by
another peripheral.

Flashing Green

The option module is establishing
communication with drive.

No action required. This status indicator will turn
steady green or red.

Steady Green

The option module is properly connected
and communicating with drive.

No action required.

Steady Orange

The brand of the option module and drive
do not match.

Connect the option module to a compatible product of
the same brand (a PowerFlex 750-Series drive).
