Step 3.

Remove the Keypad Bracket from the Drive

Refer to figure 9.1 for component locations.

Step 3.1. Record the wiring to the Regulator board terminal strip.

Step 3.2. Disconnect the wiring from the Regulator board terminal strip.

Step 3.3. Use a magnetic screwdriver to remove the four nuts that fasten the keypad

bracket to the hinged mounting panel. Hold the keypad bracket as you
remove the screws.

Step 3.4. Swing the keypad to the right to disconnect the keypad ribbon cable from

the Regulator board. The cable connector is held in place by a small
retaining clip at its center. Press in on the retaining clip while pulling out the
connector.

Step 3.5. Remove the plastic shield from the Power Module Interface board (above

the Regulator board). The shield is held in place by four 3.5 mm screws.

Step 3.6. Spread the clips on the Regulator board’s 60-pin ribbon cable to disconnect

it from the Power Module Interface board.

Step 3.7. Drives with option boards only: Remove the Regulator board ribbon

connector from the option board. The connector is held in place by retaining
clips. Spread these clips to release the connector.

Step 3.8. Remove the old Regulator board from the drive. The Regulator board is

held in place by four 6 mm hexagonal standoffs.

Step 4.

Install the New Regulator Board in the Drive

Step 4.1. Remove the new Regulator board from its anti-static wrapper. Make sure

the jumper settings on the new board match those on the old board.

Step 4.2. Fasten the new Regulator board to the standoffs on the hinged mounting

panel with the nuts removed earlier.

Step 4.3. Drives with option boards only: Align the key on the Regulator board’s

34-conductor ribbon cable connector with the slot in the option board
connector. Press the ribbon cable connector in until it locks into position.

Step 4.4. Connect the Regulator board’s 60-pin ribbon cable to the Power Module

Interface board.

Step 4.5. Replace the plastic shield over the Power Module Interface board (above

the Regulator board).

Step 4.6. Connect the keypad ribbon cable to the new Regulator board.

Step 4.7. Fasten the keypad bracket to the hinged mounting panel using the four nuts

removed earlier.

Step 4.8. Reconnect the wiring that was removed from the Regulator board terminal

strip.

static-sensitive. An anti-static wristband should be worn by any person
who touches the drive components, connectors, or wiring. Erratic
machine operation and damage to, or destruction of, equipment can
result if this precaution is not followed.
