Check that the top edge of the fl ap aligns with the top edge
of the wing. If not, slightly enlarge the holes for the hinges
in the wing and use small pieces of balsa to adjust the
position of the fl aps at the wing to align the fl aps with the
top of the wing.

Î When installing the flaps, the goal is to achieve a throw between 45 and 50 degrees. Use
the template on page 91 to check the full flap throw before gluing the flap hinges.

Î The flap hinges will be glued into the flaps and wing panels all in one process. Make sure to work
quickly so the epoxy does not begin to set before the hinges and flaps are in their correct positions.

Carefully move the fl aps to the down fl ap position as listed
in this manual. Make sure the position of the hinges are not
disturbed during this process. If the hinges are positioned
correctly, the fl ap will move through its full range of motion
without binding.
