Î Both the wire strut and scale strut retract installations will require preparing the
wheel well in the wing for the wheel to fit when the landing gear is retracted.

Trim the covering 1/8 inch (3mm) inside the opening for the retract using a hobby knife and #11 blade.

Use a hobby knife with a #11 blade to cut the covering
between the opening for the landing gear and wheel well.
Cut the covering down the center where the retract strut will
rest when the landing gear is retracted. Use a covering iron
to warm the covering and pull it back so the balsa can be
removed. Keep the covering attached to the wing.
Schneiden Sie mit einem Hobbymesser und 11 Klinge die
Bespannung zwischen dem Radhaus und der Öffnung
für das Fahrwerk ein. Schneiden Sie die Bespannung in
der Mitte des Fahrwerksbein ein und bügeln es mit einem
Folienbügeleisen fest.
Coupez l’entoilage à l’aide d’une lame #11 au milieu du
passage de la jambe de train. Utilisez un fer à entoiler pour
chauffer l’entoilage et l’écarter de la partie en balsa qui
devra être retirée. Laissez l’entoilage relié à l’aile.
Sempre con un tagliabalsa tagliare il rivestimento tra
l’apertura per il carrello e la sede per la ruota. Tagliare
la copertura al centro verso il basso dove si posiziona la
gamba quando il carrello è retratto. Con un ferro caldo per
rivestimenti scaldare la copertura e tirarla indietro per
togliere il balsa. Mantenere il rivestimento attaccato all’ala.

Use a razor saw and fl at sanding bar with light sandpaper
to remove the balsa between the opening for the retract
and wheel well. The width of the slot will be 3/4 inch
(19mm) and will match the width of the opening in the
gear door surround.
Entfernen Sie mit einer Säge und Schleifklotz das Balsaholz
zwischen der Öffnung für das Fahrwerksbein und dem
Radhaus. Die Breite des Schlitzes beträgt 19mm und paßt
zum Außenteil des Fahrwerkschachtes.
Utilisez une lame de rasoir et une cale à poncer munie de
papier abrasif fi n pour retirer le balsa au niveau du passage
de la jambe. La largeur de la rainure est de 19mm et
correspond à l’ouverture de la trappe.
Usare un seghetto a rasoio e un tampone piatto con
cartavetro fi ne per togliere il balsa tra l’apertura per il
retrattile e quella per la ruota. La larghezza dell’apertura
sarà di 19mm per combaciare con i bordi dell’apertura per
il carrello.
