e. Select R) “reset card” to reboot the module and
implement NFAS.
NOTE: If you use ESF/B8ZS:
Do not invert the D Channel
Use 8 bits on the D Channel
If you use SF/AMI:
Invert the D Channel
Use 7 bits on the D Channel
4. Set the Switch Type, Own Numbering Plan, and Own
Numbering Type according to the parameters your NSP has
provided you (use the checksheet provided). The choices
shown above are a possible (and recommended) configuration.
5. Set the Security Level according to your particular needs.
6. Set the L2 auto establish to “Yes”. It allows for verification of
signal connection.
PRI Call Profile From the PRI Configuration Menu, Figure 2-8, choose C, “PRI Call
Profile”, to display the PRI Call Profile Configuration Menu.

Choose the port to configure to display the Port n Call Profile
Configuration Menu. No call profile of Port 2 is available when in
NFAS mode.

NOTE: NFAS can have up to 48 call profiles on port 1 only. Without
NFAS you can only have up to 24 call profiles per port.
1. Select A to add a call profile. Each connection that needs a
backup needs a call profile.
