3. If there are other terminals in the daisy chain, connect the second cable from the next terminal

to the unused socket of the two-socket end of the T-cable before attaching the T-cable to the
back of the logic element.

4. Align the RJ-45 connector end of the T-cable with the appropriate RJ-45 connector on the

back of the Quad Twinax Card (QTA).

5. Make sure the twinax line is terminated properly. The last T-connector should have one input

open. If the last device is a Visara device, it must have a T-connector. If the last device is not
a Visara device, ensure that it is terminated correctly according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Note:

When one connector of the two-socket end of twinax cable is unattached,
the cable is self-terminating. When the single end of the connector cable is
unattached, the cable is in Pass Through mode, and signals continue on to
the next connected device. Never attach the twinax cable directly to the
logic element.

1. Locate the Category 5 UTP Local Area Network (LAN) cable.
2. Plug the LAN cable into one of the two RJ45 LAN connectors on the back of

the server. (See the I/O Backpanel illustration.)

Powering Up

After the iCON-XT has been properly installed and connected, the IP addresses
must be configured before it is ready to operate online. Refer to Chapter 3 and
modify or create a floppy disk with a twincon.ini file containing the correct IP
addresses

1. Install the floppy disk containing the twincon.ini file into the floppy disk drive.
2. Depress the Power-On/Off button to turn on power.
3. If the Power-On indicator does not light, check the power and make sure the

unit is completely plugged in.

4. The unit should boot and save the twincon.ini file to the hard drive. The IP

addresses have now been changed. The iCON-XT may be accessed via a web
browser using the assigned IP address.
