Upgrading the Firmware
Using
Windows Explorer
Drag-and-Drop
The StorPoint CD firmware can easily be upgraded by using the Windows
Explorer drag-and-drop.
To upgrade using Windows Explorer, you need the following:
• The file with the new StorPoint CD software. The name of this file is of the
form
product_version.bin
, e.g.
cde100_531.bin
for the StorPoint CD
software release 5.31.
• A computer running Windows Explorer.
Follow these steps to upgrade the StorPoint CD by using drag-and-drop:
1. Start the Windows Explorer.
2. Find the StorPoint CD.
3. Expand the Root and System folders.
4. Copy the new firmware file to the Flash folder.
5. Wait for the copy to complete.
Caution!
❏ The StorPoint CD will automatically restart when the upgrade is complete.
It is very important that you do NOT press the Power button during the
upgrade.
