Off

The adapter is not powered or
not properly connected to the
drive.

• Securely connect the adapter to the drive

using the Internal Interface (ribbon) cable.

• Apply power to the drive (or adapter if

mounted in a DSI External Comms Kit).

Flashing
Red

In Single mode, the adapter is
not receiving communication
from the drive.

In Multi-Drive mode, the adapter
is not receiving communication
from a drive, or a drive is not an
Allen-Bradley drive.

• Verify that the Operating Mode Jumper

(J7 in

Figure 2.1

) is in the position

corresponding to the mode in which the
adapter is being used.

• Verify the setting for Parameter 12 - [DSI

I/O Cfg].

• Verify that cables are securely connected

and not damaged. Replace cables if
necessary.

• Cycle power to the drive (or adapter if

mounted in a DSI External Comms Kit).

• Use Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 4/40/400

drives.

Flashing
Green

The adapter is establishing
communications with the drive.

No action required. This status indicator will
turn solid green or flashing red.

Solid
Green

The adapter is properly
connected and is
communicating with the drive.

No action required.

Orange

The drive is not an
Allen-Bradley drive.

Use an Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 4/40/400
drive.
