Direct Commands

Direct commands are specific commands such as 'open contactor 1'

or 'close contactor 4'

1 – Logical Mask 0 (Mask Local)

Logic mask 0 can only be selected when the system consists of a

single IE/IB combination. In Logic Mask 0, commands will be

accepted only from local (hardware) I/O.
In Logic Mask 0, the two inputs on the IB unit will not be generic

inputs as they are in all other masks. When operating in Mask 0 the

IB input 1 is the close command, and the IB input 2 is the Open

command for a mechanically latched contactor. Alternatively IB

input 2 may be used as a “JOG” input for an electrically held

contactor.

2 – Logical Mask 1 (Mask Network)

Logic Mask 1 may only be selected when the system consists of a

single IE/IB combination. In Logic Mask 1, commands will be

accepted only from remote (network) I/O.

3 – Logical Mask 2 (Mask DeviceLogix)

Logical Mask 2 enables commands to be received from DeviceLogix

using either network or local sources. In this logic mask the inputs

must be prioritized manually within the DeviceLogix control logic.

This logic mask will be used for Multi-Contactor (MC) customized

scenarios and will use standard logic blocks. For MC control

(standard applications), the local I/O (Close, Open/Jog) will default

to values as shown in Chapter 6.

4 – Logical Mask 3 (Mask HIM/PC)

Logical Mask 3 is a direct control option which is only to be enabled

for testing/troubleshooting purposes. When this mask is enabled the

IE unit and its attached IB slaves will accept either direct commands

(ex. close contactor #2) or higher level commands. The source of

these commands may be only from a DeviceNet node #63 which is

the standard node for a DeviceNet HIM.

The selection of the Logic Mask in DeviceNet is as follows:

Select Logic Mask =

‘0 – Local’

‘1 – Network’

‘2 – DeviceLogix’

‘3 – HIM’
