Maintenance Guidelines

Use the guidelines in this chapter to maintain the unit.

12.1 General Unit Maintenance

Check the following at regular intervals:

• Make sure the exterior is kept dry and free of dust, grease, oil, and dirt.

• Make sure the electrical terminal connections, assembly screws, bolts, and nuts are

tight.

• Make sure the unit is securely mounted to minimize vibration.

12.2 Motor Maintenance

Enclosed motors require minimal attention. At regular intervals, verify that external air
passages of the motor do not become clogged with foreign material that will restrict the
flow of air.

The ball bearings are deep-grooved, double-shielded bearings with sufficient lubricant
packed into the bearings. You do not need to re-lubricate the bearings.

ATTENTION: Only qualified personnel familiar with the construction
and operation of this equipment and the hazards involved should install,
adjust, operate, and/or service this equipment. Read and understand this
instruction manual in its entirety before proceeding. Failure to observe
this precaution could result in severe bodily injury or loss of life.

ATTENTION: After disconnecting input power, wait five minutes and
check with a voltmeter to assure that DC bus capacitors are discharged.
The voltmeter should read zero volts. Failure to observe these precautions
could result in severe bodily injury or loss of life.

ATTENTION: To insure that the driven equipment is not unexpectedly
started, turn off, lockout, and tag power source before proceeding. Failure
to observe this precaution could result in bodily injury.

ATTENTION: The surface temperatures of the drive and motor may
become hot, which may cause injury.
