Electrical Connection

The XDS Process Analytics Instrument is shipped with an AC line cord, which is used for initial
checkout testing only. When installed in a permanent location, the instrument is to be connected
with a dedicated conduit drop, following all applicable electrical codes. AC Mains wiring is as follows:

Power Requirements:

100/240 VAC Selectable

50/60 Hz

2A / 1.5A

With Air Conditioning (optional) 5A / 2.7A

Basic NEMA 4X Enclosure

AC Power (Mains) connection is done at the terminal strip inside the XDS Process Analytics enclosure,
as shown in the photo below:

Terminal 1

HOT

Intl: Brown

US: Black

Terminal 2

Neutral

Intl: Blue

US: White

Terminal 3

Ground

Intl: Green/Yellow

US: Green

Do not use terminals 4 to 10. These are pre-wired at the
factory.

Wiring must follow all applicable electrical codes for the area of installation.

7.2

Purged Unit

AC Power (Mains) connection to the purged unit is performed directly in the Electronic Power Control
Unit (EPCU) on the Purge Control Assembly. The terminal block in the main XDS Enclosure is pre-
wired, and must be changed to meet safety requirements. Follow the instructions given in the BEBCO
manual (shipped with the instrument) starting at the bottom of page 12. Follow the wiring diagram
on page 13. A brief overview is given on how to access AC wiring area:

Loosen the 1/16” set screw that secures the

round green housing to the base of the
Electronic Power Control Unit (EPCU). (It is not
tightened at the factory, and may not need to
be loosened.)

Rotate the green cast cover counter-clockwise
until it can be removed from the square base.
This takes about 8-10 turns.
