JT20 Operator’s Manual

Change/Adjust Drive Belt
Change or adjust engine drive belt as needed.
To adjust:
1. Turn off engine and remove key.
2. Apply moderate thumb pressure to belt
between pulleys, as shown.
3. Belt is properly tensioned when deflection is
about 3/8” (10 mm).
4. If needed, loosen alternator bolts and pull
alternator out until correct tension is reached.
5. Tighten alternator bolts.
Change Air Filter
Change air filter when red band on air filter
service indicator pops up.
To change:
1. Disengage clasps (1) and remove end cup.
2. Remove primary element (3).
3. Remove secondary element (2), if dirty.
4. Wipe inside of housing and wash end cup
(4).
5. Install new element(s).
6. Install end cup and engage clasps.
7. Reset air filter service indicator (5).
