ComColor Series Troubleshooting Guide 01

The paper or paper edges are dirty.

Unusable paper is loaded.

Check the type of the paper loaded on the standard tray or in the feed
tray. For details, see "Paper and Originals" in the "Basic Guide".

Curled paper is loaded.

Curled paper can come in contact with the ink head, making the paper
dirty. This can damage the ink head, so do not use curled paper.

[Printable area] has been set to [Maximum] in the "Admin.
Settings".

The inside of the machine may be soiled with ink. Using the [Standard]
setting is recommended particularly in cases where soiling appears after
printing data containing an image extending to the edge of the paper.
Contact your administrator.

Photo images are bright or dark.

Correction is possible in the case of image data.

Select the [Gamma control] check box on the [Image] tab of the printer
properties dialog box. Click [Details] to adjust the brightness and contrast
on the [Gamma control] dialog box.

Duplex copying cannot be performed for
the paper loaded in the standard tray.

The feed tray setting for the standard tray is set to [Envelope].

When [Feed ctrl.] is set to [Envelope] on the [Feed tray] screen, duplex
copying cannot be performed using paper from the standard tray
regardless of the type of paper loaded. Configure the settings according
to the paper to be used.

⇒ Printer mode screen X [Functions] X [Feed tray] X select the

standard tray X [Details] X [Paper type] X [Feed ctrl.]

Sent data have become broken jobs.

Job data is damaged or printed out in a printer driver other than the
RISO printer driver.

The job data is damaged, or cannot be printed out because its file format
is different from the RISO printer driver's. (The data might have been
printed out or saved in another printer driver.)

Use the RISO printer driver to send the job again.

The colors of a barcode background or
images nearby cannot be printed out.

There is an illustration in the barcode area or the barcode area
definition is out of alignment.

Regardless of the original color, the base color of the area specified by
[Barcode area definition] is printed in white; the barcode, letters and
illustrations are black.
Check whether the barcode area definition is out of alignment, or
whether letters or illustrations lie over the 1 mm around the barcode.

For details, see "Printing Barcode Originals" in the "Basic guide".
