CONFIGURING YOUR SYSTEM

As described in Part 1, before using Online Pro to display data from a

measurement arrangement, the software and monitor systems must be

configured to function together.

The configuration process consists of defining the monitor system

(telling Online Pro it is part of the arrangement) then configuring the monitor

system to deliver the required information.

When both monitor system and Online Pro are supplied together, a

disk (or disks) are supplied which include configuration files and real-time

screen page layouts that match the particular sensors in the arrangement.

This configuration information can be loaded as described in Part 1, Section

2.3. However, when Online Pro is supplied on its own for use with an existing

measurement arrangement, the configuration disk supplied will contain

non-specific configuration files that must be edited to match the

arrangement. Similarly, when additional monitor systems or sensors are

added to an arrangement, the software and monitor systems must be

configured to recognise each other.

Part 2 of this manual explains how to configure an arrangement

when it is not possible to load the configuration from a supplied disk, or when

the disk contains non-specific configuration information (also see Figure 4).

The types of monitor system that can be connected are shown in

Note 3: Global System for Mobile Communications; treat this connection as a modem.
Note 4: An APM (Ambient Particulate Monitor) is a special type of

monitor system that cannot be configured by, nor download its

configuration to Online Pro. Therefore it must be configured

independently using its own APM Software.

Any mismatch in the configuration may result in unpredictable

behaviour of the application.

Note 5: Only Warwick High Power radios (version X7200) are currently supported by this

application. It is recommended that they be purchased from and installed by

Casella CEL when ordering the system
