This parameter is necessary for the correct measurement of those of Power and of C/N, since

Note: In the Auto mode, the bandwidth of the channel plan is selected automatically.

3.3.4.3.3.- Satellite identification

This function allows one to identify the relevant satellite name for the signal trace seen in
analyser mode.

To get to this function we must be on analyser mode and on satellite band, otherwise the meter
will advise with the message “

SATELLITE ONLY

”.

Once the function has been activated in analyser mode and both in analogue or digital, a
flickering message will appear on the bottom right

SEARCHING

. Once the search is complete

satellite identification appears. If the identifier has not been standardised (according to EN ETR
162) a numeric identifier will appear.

Pressing the

key takes one to this function. Once this function has been activated,

pressing the same key again will deactivate it and the meter will continue to take the current
active measurements.

Note: Satellite identification uses the coded information in the MPEG Transport stream

according to the EN ETR 162. It is the operators’ responsibility to follow these
standards and not doing so may result in identification errors.
