3.3.1.6.3.3.- SCAN&LOG

The serial

SCAN&LOG

function that is incorporated in the meter automates the equipment to

scan the terrestrial and satellite bands and carry out measurements as a function of selectable
parameters.

- SCAN&LOG -

This function enables the automatic identification of the analog or digital nature of a channel, in
the satellite band if we are analysing a DVB-S2 or DVB-S channel and carryout the necessary
measures for each one. These measurements are stored as a

DATALOG

.

In the

SCAN&LOG

mode, we use the

to browse through different available options, and

press the button

if we wish to enable the option chosen.

In the diagram one can see three different columnss.

The first one on the left, with the heading

Socket

has two verification boxes that indicate the

type of socket we have: The one indicating

Ter/Sat

is really for those installations where the

satellite and terrestrial signal are on different sockets, therefore, when the terrestrial bandwidth
analysis has finalised, a message will appear indicating the socket must be changed in order to
continue with the satellite bandwidth analysis. The one indicating

Broad Band

carries out a full

analysis of both bandwidths without having to change sockets.

In the

Option

column we can select the type of measurement we want the meter to take. The

options are the following:

- Terrestrial

- DVB-T/T2

- DVB-S

- DVB-S2
