Text Frames

The method for entering text on a sign is identical for all sign types. Position the cursor at the
desired location on the frame and begin to type. (New frames appear with the cursor
automatically centered on the top line.) Use the <

ENTER

> key to move to the next line or next

frame.

5.7.1 Fonts

InfoNet signs have four (4) different fonts available for entering text, while the
DataTrac signs have only one (1). The matrix sign types (Galaxy, SunSpot and Glow
Cube) support up to eight (8) fonts (the actual number of fonts is dependent upon sign
size).

5.7.1.1 InfoNet Signs

The InfoNet’s text font can be changed by choosing the font before typing, or
by highlighting the text that requires a font change. There are four fonts to
choose from (each can be activated by clicking on the appropriate button):

Single Stroke variable width font.

Double Stroke variable width font.

Fixed Width single stroke font.

Graphic font (refer to Appendix B).

The selected font is shown in the Font box at the bottom of the screen.

SS = Single stroke
DS = Double stroke
FW = Fixed width
GR = Graphic

5.7.1.2 Matrix Signs

Matrix type signs (Galaxy, SunSpot and Glow Cube) select fonts
using the font name box in the upper right of the window. The font
names correspond to their pixel height and line thickness. “Fixed
Width” fonts are ideal for use with time and temperature fields.
“Graphic” indicates a graphic font. Available fonts will vary with sign
size.

For example, the Normal 7 font is 7 pixels high, each character is 4
pixels wide and the line thickness is one pixel.
