CPU motherboard replacement

Install replacement motherboard

Replacement motherboards are Type III motherboards. Install as follows:

1. Make sure the video jumper is in the correct position.

2. Install the connector panel in the chassis, making sure the connector panel “snaps”

into the chassis on all edges. Use the connector panel that you received with the
FRU kit.

3. Install the motherboard in the chassis, being careful to engage connector panel

flanges on connectors.

4. Align the motherboard in the chassis as illustrated.

5. Fasten the remaining screws that affix the motherboard to the chassis.

6. Install the heatsink as shown.

7. Complete the installation of the replacement motherboard by reversing the removal

steps for the Type III motherboard. As you do so, follow additional instructions in
one of the following sections, as appropriate.

Fasten 1 screw

Make sure heatsink mounting holes
and baseplate studs are aligned.

Adjust motherboard position
in the direction indicated until
it snaps into place.

Fasten diagonal screws
(1 and 2) until just snug

Tighten all four screws

Place on top of CPU, aligned
with mounting holes
