(5) Paper end detection

a.

Cut sheet

The presence of paper and paper near end position are detected by sensor A, an interrupt photosensor in the

sensor T assembly. When there is paper, the paper shields the sensor light path.

The top edge of paper is detected by sensor B, a reflection photosensor on the card guide. When paper is not

loaded, the light emitted from the photosensor is not reflected because the platen is black. When paper is

loaded, the light is reflected from paper.
