Environmental hazard ಘImproper handling of fuel is a danger to the environment.
ದ Do not allow fuel to get into the ground water, the ground, or the sewage system.

Carry out this work with a cold engine.
ದ Turn the handle b  of the fuel tap to the OFF position. (Figure b500137-10b P. 20)
No more fuel flows from the tank to the carburetor.

ದ Guide the hose coming down behind the engine into a suitable container.

Water in the float chamber results in malfunctioning.
ದ Undo the screw b  (turn it counterclockwise) a few turns and drain the fuel from
the float chamber.
ದ Tighten screw b  .

Checking engine oil level

The engine oil level must be checked when the engine is cold.
ದ Stand the motorcycle upright on a horizontal surface.

Engine is cold.
ದ Check the engine oil level.
The engine oil must be between the halfway mark and the top of the oil level

» If the engine oil level is below the specified level:
ದ Top up the engine oil. ( P. 81)

Danger of scalding ಘEngine oil and gear oil get very hot when the motocycle is driven.
ದ Wear suitable protective clothing and gloves. If you scald yourself, hold the affected area under cold water immediately.

ದ Dispose of oil, grease, filters, fuel, cleaning substances, brake fluid, batteries, etc. according to regulations.
