Chapter 12: System Integration
Using the Xilinx AXI Ethernet MAC
The Ethernet AVB Endpoint will be enabled in the AXI_Ethernet LogiCORE by setting the
parameter C_AVB=1 in EDK version 12.3 or later.
If you have generated the AXI_Ethernet LogiCORE (with the parameter C_AVB set to “1”),
please refer to
for instructions on how to configure the hardware, set up the AVB
PTP drivers, and then use the AVB feature in a processor-based system.
AXI_Ethernet Configuration
To ensure that AVB Audio/Video frames can be sent/received, the AXI Ethernet MAC
should be configured via software initialization such that:
•
Jumbo frames are disabled.
•
VLAN Frame Transmission/Reception is enabled (Note: Extended VLAN
functionality is not supported; The VLAN frame enable bit should be set in the
TEMAC Transmit/Receive Configuration Words.)
•
The MAC is set to operate in promiscuous mode (the Ethernet MAC address filter is
disabled).
