Drying Grain in Staged Batch

To dry grain in batches, you can choose a control scheme that notifies you when grain is ready to move to
the cooling phase (in dry and cool operation) or unloading phase.

Before You Begin

Make sure to set the timers and delays (see

Setting the Dryer’s Timers and Delays, page 30

).

To dry grain in staged batch:

1. If the dryer is running, press Stop on the control panel. To stop the dryer when connected remotely,

click Stop Dryer from the main menu. However, once stopped, you cannot restart it remotely. The
dryer can only be restarted on-site.

IMPORTANT: To simultaneously reset all staged batch timers (drying, cooling, cool-down, and

unloading timers) to their set values, press and hold Stop on the control panel for five
seconds. This reset can only be performed on-site, not through GSI’s remote web
application.

2. From the menu pane, click Control→Moisture Control Mode.

3. Select Staged Batch.

4. Select one of the following control schemes:

Time — The control scheme that uses a timer to establish the duration of the drying phase.

Temperature — The control scheme that uses the grain temperature setpoint to establish the dura-
tion of the drying phase.

Time and Temperature — The control scheme that uses the drying time and grain temperature set-
point to establish the duration of the drying phase. The drying phase ends only once the drying time
has elapsed and the grain setpoint is reached.

Dual-Setpoint Time — The control scheme that exposes grain to two different drying temperatures.
The plenum temperature switches from one setpoint to the other after a predetermined time.

Dual-Setpoint Temperature — The control scheme that exposes grain to two different drying tem-
peratures. The plenum temperature switches from one setpoint to the other once the grain tempera-
ture reaches a predetermined setpoint.
