Chapter 9: The Dry Grain

To adjust unload speeds in real time:

1. From the menu pane, click Unload→Unload Speeds.

2. Set the following parameter:

Unload Speeds Entered in — The units of measure (bushels or metric tons per hour, or metering
roll speed %) that the unload speed value is entered in.

3. Adjust the unload speed according to the following conditions:

a. If you are running the 1-speed temperature control scheme in continuous flow, set the following

parameters:

Adjusted Speed — In either the 1-speed temperature control scheme in continuous flow or any
of the control schemes in staged batch, the adjusted speed that the metering rolls turn at when
the Unload Auger switch is in the Auto position.

Incremental Adjustment — The incremental adjustment of the metering rolls’ actual speed in
auto mode.

Once entered, the speed value that appears in the moisture control settings of this control
scheme does not change.

b. If you are running the 2-speed temperature or 5-speed temperature control scheme in continuous

flow, click the following buttons:

Incremental Adjustment — The incremental adjustment of the metering rolls’ actual speed in
auto mode.

Once clicked, all speed values and their respective offsets increase or decrease simultaneously,
in single-digit increments.

NOTE: The Unload Speeds window is disabled when running the 5-speed moisture control

scheme in continuous flow.

c. If you are running any of the control schemes in staged batch, set the following parameters:

Adjusted Speed — In either the 1-speed temperature control scheme in continuous flow or any
of the control schemes in staged batch, the adjusted speed that the metering rolls turn at when
the Unload Auger switch is in the Auto position.

Incremental Adjustment — The incremental adjustment of the metering rolls’ actual speed in
auto mode.

The Actual Speed field displays the current speed of the metering rolls. This value is also dis-
played in the System Parameters pane in the main menu.

IMPORTANT: Unload speeds cannot be set lower or higher than the minimum and maximum limits,

respectively.

Ensuring Accurate Unload Speed Rates

To ensure that the displayed unload speed matches your dryer’s actual flow rate, you can perform a valida-
tion procedure that automatically adjusts your dryer’s unload speed based on measured values of
unloaded grain.

Before You Begin

Make sure to select a drying mode and corresponding control scheme, and enter all settings in the
scheme’s respective moisture control settings window.
