6. Position the dry sensor back into place and secure the sensor cover.

Setting the Value Range for the Unload Speed

Defining an allowable value range ensures that the unload speed is always set within a minimum and max-
imum limits. Once set, you can modify this range if the established values are either insufficient or
excessive.

To set the value range for the unload speed:

1. From the menu pane, click System→Unload (Advanced)→Min/Max Unload Speeds.

2. Set the following parameters:

Unload Speeds Entered in — The units of measure (bushels or metric tons per hour, or metering
roll speed %) that the minimum and maximum unload speeds are entered in.

NOTE: The units of measure selection (bushels or metric tons per hour) that is displayed in this field

is dependent on the chosen system of measurement (System→Preferences→Units of
Measure
).

Maximum Speed — The metering roll speed’s upper limit. Unload speeds cannot exceed this value.

Minimum Speed — The metering roll speed’s lower limit. Unload speeds cannot be less than this
value.

IMPORTANT: The metering roll speed cannot exceed the maximum setpoint or drop below the minimum

setpoint, regardless of whether you manually select an unload speed that lies beyond
these limits, or if the selected control scheme automatically attempts to do so. The mini-
mum and maximum speed setpoints are fixed limits that cannot be violated.

Let’s assume that the maximum speed of the metering rolls is set to 600 bph, but according to the specifi-
cations of the unload auger’s motor, this speed setting is too high for the unload auger. When the unload
speed is set to 600 bph, the unload auger jams because it is not able to keep up with the metering rolls. In
this case, reduce the maximum and minimum speeds accordingly, thus preventing you from entering an
unload speed that is too high.

Adjusting Unload Speeds in Real Time

Once you have selected a drying mode and set the parameters for your chosen control scheme, you can
adjust the unload speed in real time without modifying or effecting the original values.

Before You Begin

Make sure to set the parameter settings for your chosen control scheme. For a list of the available control
schemes in continuous flow, see

Drying Grain in Continuous Flow, page 57

; for staged batch, see

Drying

Grain in Staged Batch, page 63

.

What You Should Know

The unload speed parameters can be entered in two places: in the Moisture Control Settings window of
the drying mode’s respective control scheme (in continuous flow), or in the Unload Speeds window once
the desired control scheme has been selected. For example, if 2-Speed Temperature is selected in the
Moisture Control Mode window, the Unload Speeds window allows you to simultaneously adjust the high
and low speed settings of this control scheme.
