Replacing the Filter-Drier
The filter-drier on this unit is designed to trap moisture, acid, and
particulates and must be changed as needed to assure ad-
equate moisture and contaminant removal from used refrigerant.
For proper contaminant removal, we recommend replacing the
filter-drier after recycling a
maximum of 300 pounds (136
kilograms) of refrigerant. Because the amount of moisture varies
from system to system, the amount you are able to recycle
between filter-drier replacements also varies.
After 300 pounds (136 kilograms) of refrigerant have been
recovered, the unit displays the warning message “CH-F,”
prompting you to change the filter-drier. Once the “CH-F” warning
message displays you can:
•Start the filter changeout routine — Simultaneously press the
SHIFT/RESET and FILTER keys, then follow the instructions
for replacing the filter-drier.
•Bypass the filter replacement routine — Press HOLD/CONT,
and resume operation.
•Clear the internal counter — If you changed the filter-drier
before the internal counter reached 300 pounds (136 kilo-
grams) of refrigerant recovered, simultaneously press the
SHIFT/RESET and ENTER keys to clear the counter.
CAUTION! For best results, use Robinair filter-driers (part no.
17430). All performance tests and claims are based on using this
specially-blended filter-drier. Use of another may affect perfor-
mance results.
Note: Do not remove the caps from the filter ends until you are
ready to install it in the unit.
1. Close the high and low side valves on the control panel.
2. If
manual recycling is in process, press the SHIFT/RESET key
on the keypad to interrupt the cycle. If automatic vacuum/
recycling is in process, press the HOLD/CONT key on the
keypad to interrupt the cycle.
3. Attach the blue (low side) hose to the service port located
near the filter, and open the low side valve on the control
panel. Simultaneously press SHIFT/RESET and FILTER on
the keypad to recover all remaining refrigerant from the low
side of the unit. The display shows “FIL,” “AUTOMATIC” and
“RECOVER.” When all refrigerant has been removed, the
messages change to “FIL” and “HOLD” to indicate the unit is
waiting for the filter-drier replacement.
4. When all refrigerant has been removed, remove the filter-drier
by unscrewing the nuts located at each end of the filter-drier.
Dispose of the filter-drier properly.
IMPORTANT! Be sure the refrigerant flow arrow on the new
filter-drier points in the same direction as the old filter-drier.
5. Install the new filter-drier and tighten the nuts.
6. Press HOLD/CONT on the keypad. The vacuum pump starts
automatically and runs for five minutes before shutting off.
The messages on the digital display change to “FIL” and
“VACUUM.” After the vacuum pump shuts off, disconnect the
blue hose from the service port and reattach it to the A/C
system, if required.
7. Press RECYCLE on the keypad to restart the manual recy-
cling process or press HOLD/CONT to restart the automatic
vacuum/recycling process. Any air left in the unit will be
removed when the tank is purged of air.

Der Filter-Trockener an diesem Gerät ist entworfen um
Feuchtigkeit , Säure und Teilchen aufzufangen und muß je nach
Bedarf gewechselt werden, damit eine zureichende Entfernung
von Feuchtigkeit und Schmutzstoffe von dem Kältemittel
versichert werden kann.
Für richtige Schmutzstoffentfernung schlagen wir das
Auswechseln des Filter-Trockener nach der Wiederaufbereitung
vom maximal 300 Pfund (136 kilogramm) Kältemittel vor. Da der
Anteil von Feuchtigkeit von System zu System verschieden ist,
ändert sich auch der Anteil den Sie zwischen der Filter-
Trockener Auswechselung wiederaufbereiten können .
Nachdem 300 Am. Pfund (136 kilogramm) von Kältemittel
rückgewonnen wurden, leuchtet das Gerät mit der
Warnungsmitteilung “CH-F” zur Auswechselung des Filter/
Trockners auf. Nachdem die “CH-F” Mitteilung erst einmal
aufgeleuchtet ist, können Sie:
•Beginnen Sie mit der Filterauswechselungsroutine —
Drücken Sie gleichzeitig die SHIFT/RESET (SCHIEBEN/
RÜCKSETZEN) und FILTER Tasten, dann folgen Sie den
Anleitung für die Auswechselung des Filter/Trockners.
•Umgehen Sie die Filterauswechselungsroutine — Drücken
Sie HOLD/CONT (STOP/WEITER) und nehmen Sie den
Vorgang wieder auf.
•Setzen Sie den internen Zähler wieder zurück — Falls Sie
den Filter/Trockner schon ausgewechselt haben, bevor der
interne Zähler 300 Am.Pfund (136 kilogramm) von
rückgewonnenen Kältemittel erreicht hat, drücken Sie
gleichzeitig die SHIFT/RESET (SCHIEBEN RÜCKSETZEN )
und die ENTER (EINGABE) Tasten um den Zähler
zurückzusetzen.
VORSICHT! Für die Beste Leistung benutzen Sie Robinair Filter/
Trockner (Teil Nr. 17430). Alle Leistungstests und Ansprüche
sind auf die Benutzung dieses spezial formulierten Filter/
Trockners gegründet. Die Benutzung eines anderen könnte die
Leistungsresultate beeinflußen.
Anmerkung: Entfernen Sie die Kappen von den Filterenden
nicht, bis Sie bereit sind ihn in das Gerät zu installieren.
1. Schließen Sie das Hochdruckseiten- und
Niederdruckseitenventil am Schaltpult
2. Falls manuelle Wiederaufbereitung im Vorgang ist, drücken
Sie die SHIFT/RESET (SCHIEBEN/RÜCKSETZUNG) Taste
auf der Tastatur um den Vorgang zu unterbrechen. Falls
automatische Vakuum/Wiederaufbereitung im Vorgang ist,
drücken Sie die HOLD/CONT (STOP/WEITER) Taste auf der
Tastatur um den Vorgang zu unterbrechen.
3. Schließen Sie den blauen (Niederdruckseiten) Schlauch an
den Serviceeingang der sich in der Nähe des Filters befindet
an und öffnen Sie das Niederdruckseitenventil am Schaltpult.
Gleichzeitig drücken Sie SHIFT/RESET (SCHIEBEN/
RÜCKSETZUNG) und FILTER auf der Tastatur um alles
übrige Kältemittel von der Niederdruckseite des Geräts
rückzugewinnen. Die Anzeige zeigt “FIL”, “AUTOMATIC”
(AUTOMATISCH) und “RECOVER” (RÜCKGEWINNUNG) an.
Wenn alles Kältemittel entfernt worden ist, wechselt die
Mitteilung auf “FIL” und “HOLD” (STOP) über um anzuzeigen,
daß das Gerät auf die Filter-Trockener Auswechselung wartet.
4. Wenn alles Kältemittel entfernt worden ist entfernen Sie den
Filter-Trockener, indem Sie die Muttern die sich an jedem
Ende des Filter-Trockener befinden abschrauben. Werfen Sie
den Filter-Trockener in angemessener Weise weg.
