2. Check the IMD video message. If there is a monitor connected, you
should see the Compaq initialization screen.
3. Check for the IMD memory test message. The monitor shows the
memory count and the memory initialization.
4. Observe the memory count displayed.
5. Check for the IMD BIOS message. The monitor shows the number of
processors, their speed, and their cache size.
6. Check for IMD messages about the
G drive array
G floppy drive
G option ROM
G SCSI device
Make sure each green LED indicator on the PCI Hot Plug Interface Board is
on (both inside and outside). To verify the inside LED indicators, open the PCI
Hot Plug access panel. If any LEDs are not on, power down the server and
make sure that the following statements are true:
■ Each slot has an expansion board or a slot cover.
■ The slot release lever is closed.
■ The expansion boards are properly seated. If necessary, try removing
and reseating the boards to make sure.
■ The PCI Hot Plug Interface board cables are properly connected to the
I/O board.
■ The PCI Hot Plug Interface boards are properly seated on the chassis’
rear I/O panel.
