When adding processors of these speeds, be aware of the following guidelines:
CAUTION: The server will NOT boot if the Intel Pentium III Xeon processors are
NOT the same speed.
■ You must install the processors starting from slot 1.
■ Each pair of processor slots must contain processors of the same cache
size. Processor slot pairs are slots 1, 2; slots 3, 4; slots 5, 6; and
slots 7, 8.
■ You must install processor terminator boards in all unpopulated
processor slots.
■ Install the processor pair with the lowest cache size into slots 1 and 2. If
a second pair of processors has a larger cache size, install them in the
next pair of slots.
