2. Remove any loaded operating system.
3. Refer to your operating system documentation.
4. Install again.
Installation problem
occurred. Refer to your operating system documentation and to the
SmartStart Release Notes on the SmartStart and Support
Software CD.
Use RBSU to troubleshoot where the installation failed.
Problem
encountered with
the hardware you
have added to the
system. Refer to the documentation provided with the hardware.
Run RBSU to determine if drives are properly attached to the
primary boot controller. See Chapter 8 for instructions on
correct SCSI bus cabling configuration for your unit.
Problem
encountered with
hardware
added to a new
configure-to-order
system (where
available). You must complete the factory-installed operating system
software installation prior to adding new hardware to the
system.
Be sure you are following the instructions provided in the
Factory-Installed Operating System Software Installation
Guide.
Remove the new hardware and complete the software
installation. Then reinstall the new hardware.
Refer to the Compaq Servers Troubleshooting Guide for the following:
■ Information you will need to collect when diagnosing software problems
and to provide when contacting support
■ Instructions on how to upgrade your operating system and its drivers. It
also tells you what recovery options are available, and offers advice on
minimizing downtime.
