5. Insert the expansion board into the appropriate expansion slot

pushing firmly until the board is securely seated.

6. Close the air baffle

7. Close the expansion slot release lever from the rear of the unit to secure

the board

. Make sure that the lever latches into the closed position.

8. Connect the expansion board I/O cable as appropriate.

9. To keep the full-length expansion boards fully seated, be sure the

L-shaped slot keeper tabs on the plastic expansion board guide are
positioned over the forward end of the expansion board. Using the slot
keepers is especially important when expansion boards are added or the
server is moved.

10. Close the top access panel and slide the I/O module into the server.

11. Power up the server.

12. Run the ROM-Based Setup Utility, as described in Chapter 8,

“Configuring the Server.”
