Managing HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager
Configurations

You save and activate an HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager configuration in the
Configuration Manager page.

The HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager configuration stores settings for remote HP
EFS WAN Accelerators, the HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager, and HP EFS WAN
Accelerator Manager administrative objects (profiles and groups)—basically, all
settings you can set with the HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager.

When you use the HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager to modify settings, you must
consider the effect they have on the:

‹

active, running configuration

‹

written, saved configurations (1 or more)

When you complete HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager configuration pages and
apply your settings, the settings are applied to the running configuration but not written
to the configuration file.

When you save your settings, the settings are written to the active configuration file,
and the previous active configuration is backed up.

For example, the running configuration myconfig populates HP EFS WAN
Accelerator Manager and remote appliance settings with particular values. If you
change values and click Apply after you change them, the new values are applied to
the running configuration. If you click Reset, the values revert to the running, active
configuration. If you click Save, the changes are written to myconfig and the previous
version of myconfig is saved as myconfig.bak.

If you have not saved your settings, the Save Configuration icon displays a flashing
orange arrow.

You can use the Configuration Manager to save all changes that have been applied to
the running configuration to the active configuration file or to save them under a file
with a different name. You can also use the Configuration Manager to activate a
previously saved configuration file.
