Transport Length Switch Wiring

The Tower Transport Length Switch is located on the left
side of the tower base boom underneath the cover. This
switch is used as a backup for the tower boom string pot
length sensors and trips (activates) when the tower boom
is extended approximately 7” (18 cm). It is used to find the
transport position in the event of a tower length sensor
failure and during Electrical Retrieval (see Section 4.9,
Electrical Retrieval System
) to assist in determining the
length of the tower boom when a fault is detected to any
sensor in the Envelope Control System (see Section 4.6,
Envelope Control System
).
