The numeric displays are used to indicate hardware fault conditions. When
the fault indicator is lit, the left display will show a number indicating the
type of hardware fault. Table 5.C gives a description of the faults.

One or more push buttons are stuck on. This could be
caused by a mechanical problem with the buttons, or
by an object pressing on the push buttons.
If the cause is mechanical, the Communications
Controller should be returned for servicing. Otherwise,
remove the pressure from the push buttons to clear the
fault condition.
The Communications Controller will continue to
communicate when this fault is detected, but
configuration will not be possible.

On power up, the Smart Transmitter Interface detected
invalid configuration data in the EEPROM. The Smart
Transmitter Interface recovered by writing the factory
default configuration to the EEPROM. You must power
the module off and back on, and then reconfigure it.
This is not a major fault, but if the problem persists,
return the Communications Controller for servicing.
