Configure the I/O

This chapter provides instructions on how to configure a ControlLogix, PLC-5,
SLC 500, or MicroLogix 1100 or MicroLogix 1400 controller to communicate
with the adapter and end device.

Use RSLinx Classic Software

RSLinx Classic software, in all its variations (for example, Lite, Gateway, and
OEM), is used to provide a communication link between the computer, network,
and controller. RSLinx Classic software requires its network-specific driver to be
configured before communication is established with network devices. Follow
these steps to configure the RSLinx driver:

1.

Start RSLinx software.

2.

From the Communications menu, choose Configure Drivers.

The Configure Drivers dialog log appears.

3.

From the Available Drive Type pull-down menu, choose EtherNet/IP
Driver.

4.

Click Add New.

The Add New RSLinx Driver dialog box appears.

5.

Use the default name or type a new name and click OK.

The ‘Configure driver:’ dialog box appears.

6.

Depending on your application, select either the browse local or remote
subnet option, and click OK.

The Configure Drivers dialog box reappears with the new driver in the
Configured Drivers list.
