Planting Depth
Setting nominal planting depth, and achieving it
consistently, is affected by multiple adjustable drill
functions, from greatest to least effect they are:
• Leveling the Drill (page 18)
• Opener Depth (Press Wheel Height) (page 65)
• Row Unit Down-Force (page 51),
• Optional Accessory Hitch settings and Coulter Setup,
• Unit-Mounted Coulter Depth Adjustment (page 49),
• Disk Blade Adjustments (as row unit blades wear,
page 57).
Material Rate Adjustments
Using ground drive, material rates for each of the boxes
are set independently.
Using hydraulic drive, rates for both main seed boxes are
set simultaneously from the cab control.
The following table summarizes the rate adjustments
available (including complete shutoff).
