Adjusting Disc Contact

Row unit disk blades may be sharp. Use caution when making
adjustments in this area.

Refer to Figure 51
1.

Raise the drill and install the transport locks.

2.

Remove the bolt retaining the opener disc on one
side. Carefully remove the disc, noting how many
spacers are outside the disk and inside the disk. Do
not lose the hub components and spacer washers.

3.

To reduce the spacing between the discs (the normal
case), move one spacer washer from the inside to
the outside of the disc.

4.

Re-assemble and check disc contact.

Meter Adjustments

10HDP drills support 10 Series Precision and Finger
Pickup meters. You can change between meter types as
operations require.

• Great Plains precision seed meters offer a choice of

singulating and volumetric seed wheels, often with
several cell counts for coarse selection of population.
See page 59 for changing wheels. There are no other
adjustments required.

• Finger pickup meters are available with 6 or 12 fingers.

Finger meters have a brush adjustment to obtain the
most consistent pickup of seed. See page 62 for brush
settings.

They can also be synchronized for precise seed stag-
ger in twin row operations. See “Sprocket Indexing
(Stagger)
” on page 63.
