PIPING FOOT
*Optional Purchase
Use this foot to insert piping into seams or edges of projects.
It can also be used to create piping by covering cord. The foot
has two grooves on the underside: use the left groove to insert
piping from the left; use the right side to insert piping from the
right.
TO STITCH PIPING INTO A SEAM
1. Set the machine for straight stitch, center needle position,
making sure that the needle clears the hole on the foot.
2. Snap on the Piping Foot.
3. Set the piping in position along the seam line on the right
side of the fabric. Place the second piece of fabric on top of

4. Place the fabric and piping under the piping foot, aligning
the piping with the groove on the underside of the foot.
5. As you sew, the groove on the underside of the foot will
guide the piping.
TO CREATE PIPING
1. Cut bias fabric strips wide enough to cover the cord, making
sure to include seam allowances in the measurement.
2. Set the machine for straight stitch, center needle position,
making sure that the needle clears the hole on the foot.
3. Place the cording on the wrong side of the fabric strip, then
wrap the fabric over the cord so the raw edges are even.
4. Place the fabric and cord under the piping foot, with the
cord in the groove on the underside of the foot.

fabrics such as leather, suede, vinyl and heavy knit fabrics.
1. Snap on the Roller Foot.
0DQXDOO\ OHDG WKH WKUHDG IURP WKH QHHGOH WKURXJK WKH
opening of the foot, then slip the thread under and behind
the foot.
3. Use double-faced (basting) tape to hold the fabric pieces
together for sewing, which will prevent either layer from
slipping.
4. Place fabric under the presser foot. Lower the presser foot.
Sew.
Note: A SINGER 2045 Ballpoint needle is recommended
for knit fabrics.
