5.2.3 VLAN Configuration
From the Port Configuration screen, select VLAN Configuration (3) and press Enter. The VLAN
Configuration screen (Figure 5-6) opens. Use the VLAN Configuration screen to display and
configure the VLAN parameters. When all VLAN functions have been set, press Esc to return to
the Port Configuration screen.

5.2.3.1 VLAN Rules
From the VLAN Configuration screen, select Ingress VLAN Rules (1) and press Enter. Use the
Ingress VLAN Rules screen (Figure 5-7) to configure the VLAN parameters listed below.
To configure, type the item number and press Enter. Press the Space bar to change values and
Tab
to change columns. Press Enter to accept changes. When all VLAN parameters have been
set, press Esc to return to the VLAN Configuration screen.
NOTE: Service frames do not include traffic destined to the 9145E Management
host.
1. Port Interface Type Select C-Tag or S-Tag for User or Network ports. The All-to-One bundling
feature is enabled when you select one port (typically, the Network port) as an S-Tagged port. S-
Tag frames are IEEE 802.1ad compliant, with an Ethertype of 0x88A8. If the port is set to S-Tag,
then all C-Tagged regular service traffic will not be subject to VLAN rules, except VLAN rule 1,
because VLAN rule 1 drops untagged packets.
2. Drop Untagged Packets? The 9145E will discard all Service frames received on the User or
Network port that do not have a VLAN Tag. Selecting Yes discards packets.
