Machine Basting
« Attach darning and embroicieiy foot (1) to
machine by following instructions for “Ah
taching Darning and Embroldcfy f“oor In
Chapter
2.
• Place fabric layers to bo basted
(2)
under
grosser foot and lower foot.
• Select straight stitch.
♦ Where tacking stitch is desired, tap speed
controller (3) (|uickly. Machine will sew
one stitch and stop.
♦ With needio in the ‘‘up” position, foot will
automatically be raised off the fabric.
Reposition fabric BY HAND, and tap
speed controller once again.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT attempt machine
basting with the presser foot filter In the
raised position while sewingl Raising the
fool manually releases all tension on the
needle thread and improper stitcfiing or jam
ming may result.
(•Repeat operation along seam line spac
ing basting stitches as desired until end
of seam is reached.
