User Card Slots

The user card slots are intended to allow application specific extensions of the system
capabilities. Potential applications of user cards include 10G fabric uplink boards or a Clock
Generator Module (CGM).

All user cards should fulfill the following requirements to fit into the system:

ZD high speed backplane connector
Use the 3x10 pairs ZD backplane connector to meet the requirement of 10GB XAUI signal.
The following signals are available on the ZD backplane connector:

Redundant 3.4 V for IPMC (ATCA-MF105-provided)

Redundant IPMB

Redundant CLK1, CLK2 and CLK3

Access to fabric channel of one ATCA blade

Spare pins for at least four bidirectional LVDS ports

Power connector
Use the TYCO 223995-3 6 pins power connector.
The backplane power connector provides the following signals:

Redundant -48 VDC/VRTN

Shelf ground

Optional components:

IPMC block

10GBase-SFP+ uplink interface

Synchronization clock channel

Designers of user cards should contact the Artesyn Embedded Technologies engineering team
to obtain the detailed pin-out of the backplane connectors and mechanical data.
