6.10 Boot Menu

This section describes how to select, order, and change priority of a device’s boot order.

On power-up, BIOS attempts to load the operating system from the specified boot device.
When the operating system is not found on the specified boot device, BIOS attempts to load it
from other given devices in their assigned order. This order should be specified in the Boot
Menu.

Boot devices that may contain the operating system include:

Hard drives

CD ROMs

Removable devices such as floppy drive

PXE boot

When specifying any device as a boot device, ensure the operating system is available on the
device. The BIOS uses Setup to determine a device from which to boot the operating system.
