[RTZ] button, for example, to locate to a

point that you want to check.

TIP

Use the RTZ and LRP Functions to easily locate

to the beginning of the song (00h00m00s00f) or

the last point where recording started. For more

information about searching backward/forward

and locating, see “Locate and search functions” on

page 52.

6. Press the Play (7) button to play the recorded

track.

Use the track LEVEL knob and the MASTER

LEVEL knob to adjust the playback level.

Use the TRACK PAN knobs to set the left and

right stereo position of each track.

Use the VOLUME dial on the back of the unit or

the volume control of the external monitoring

system (powered monitor speakers or an

amplifier and speakers) to set the final monitoring

volume.

NOTE

Use the TRACK PAN and LEVEL knobs to adjust

the levels and stereo positions of the output

playback signals of tracks that have already been

recorded.

If you are not satisfied with the recorded sound,

follow the procedures above again from the

beginning.

Multitrack recording

You can record new audio to different tracks while

playing back already recorded tracks.

Setting the recording tracks

Press the REC buttons of tracks that have already

been recorded to turn their REC indicators OFF.

Press the TRACK REC buttons of tracks to be

recorded to put them into recording standby (REC

indicators blink).

Setting TRACK PAN and LEVEL values

Use the PAN and LEVEL knobs for already recorded

tracks to adjust their playback levels and stereo

positions when monitoring during recording.

Input selection and assignment

Use the procedures described earlier in this chapter

to assign input sources to tracks for recording.

Setting input levels

Just as though you were recording, you can monitor

the sound of already recorded tracks playing back and

the input sources of the tracks for recording, allowing

you to check the monitoring balance and volume.

Recording additional tracks

While pressing and holding the Record (0) button,

press the Play (7) button.
While listening to the playback tracks, make new

recordings on other tracks.
