9 – Mixdown and mastering

Mixdown

Adjusting the volumes and stereo positions of the

recorded tracks to create a well-balance stereo mix is

called mixdown.

Level and balance

Use the TRACK 1–8 LEVEL knobs to adjust the

relative balance between tracks. Then, use the

MASTER LEVEL knob to adjust the overall level.
Watching the and level meters on the display,

adjust the levels until they are suitable. If the volume

is too loud, the sound will be distorted.

NOTE

The track level meters on the display show the

recorded signal levels on the tracks. Therefore,

these meters do not change even when the TRACK

LEVEL knobs are adjusted.

TIP

You do not need to keep the entire song at the

same volume. For example, you could gradually

increase the volume during a guitar solo.

Stereo position (panning)

Use the TRACK PAN knobs to adjust the stereo

positions of tracks .

Track equalizers

Each track has a two band equalizer.
Use the

EQ SETTING

screen to set the track equal-

izers.
1. Press the EQ button to open the

EQ SETTING

screen.

2. Set the following parameters for the track equal-

izers.

Parameter

EQ-SWITCH
(track equalizer switch)

On/Off (default: Off)

Hi-F

(high frequency range)

1.7 kHz – 18 kHz

(default: 5 kHz)

Hi-G

(high range gain)

±12 dB (default: 0.0

dB)

Lo-F

(low frequency range)

32 Hz – 1.6 kHz

(default: 350 Hz)

Lo-G

(low range gain)

±12 dB (default: 0.0

dB)

Use the F1 [g] and F2 [t] button to switch the

track being set.

Use the F3 [5] and F4 [b] buttons to select

(highlight) parameters, and use the DATA wheel

to adjust their values.

3. After making track equalizer settings, press the

HOME button to return to the Home Screen.

NOTE

When a track equalizer is ON, that track is shown

on the Home Screen as in the illustration below.

Reverb

This unit has six types of reverb effects.
Adjust the level of the signal sent to the reverb effect

from each track by using their REVERB knobs.
The signals are sent to the reverb effect after the track

equalizer.
1. Press the REVERB button to open the

screen.
