Client Mode
When the panel is in “client” mode, it operates in conjunction with an NV9649 and other
NV9648s. The NV9649 is the “server” and the NV9648s are the “clients.” The NV9649 and the
NV9648s combine to form, in essence, a larger panel
—
actually a cluster of many small control
units. This is an example of a system with an NV9649 and 7 NV9648 clients:
The NV9649, being the server, can control which sources and destinations the NV9648s can
select. It can also perform takes, locks, and other functions.
Under the client model, each NV9648 has 3 identical sections:
Each section functions as a complete and separate control unit. Each control unit corresponds to
a single destination either assigned during configuration or chosen at the NV9649 and its
display typically shows that destination (when the NV9649 is in destination mode). The function
buttons allow simple all-level takes to, and locks on, that destination.
Each control unit is completely unrelated to, and unaffected by, the other control units.
When the NV9649 is in source mode, the control unit’s display shows the current source. When
the NV9649 is in destination mode, the display shows the destination controlled by the control
unit.
